Mini has unveiled the Countryman Untamed Edition, a rugged new trim with raised suspension, all-terrain tyres and outdoor accessories aimed at adventurous buyers.

Mini has taken the wraps off the Countryman Untamed Edition, a new range-topping trim that the British brand describes as its most off-road-ready SUV yet. The third-generation Countryman is the first to receive such treatment, which combines a raised ride height, tougher tyres and a host of accessories designed to broaden the model's appeal to more adventurous buyers.
At the heart of the Untamed makeover is a 15mm suspension lift paired with specially developed Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus tyres. Together they raise the ride height by up to 19mm, which Mini says significantly enhances off-road capability. The steering, anti-lock braking and stability control systems have also been retuned to deliver what the company calls enhanced traction and confident handling across a wide range of surfaces.
The full mechanical package is available across petrol and electric Countryman models in the United States, but in Europe it is exclusive to the electric version. Internal combustion cars in Europe are limited to more visual tweaks. While the off-road tyres are standard in the US, they are a £600 option in the UK, though every Untamed Edition gains a new 19-inch five-spoke lightweight alloy wheel design that echoes the tough steel wheels traditionally fitted to trail-ready 4x4s.
Visually, the Untamed Edition is distinguished by a new vertically slatted front grille, a reshaped rear diffuser and a series of matt black body decals intended to protect the metalwork from stone chips. A bright blue Untamed logo sits on the Countryman's large C-pillar and is repeated across a knitted seat trim that Mini says is inspired by rock formations. The centre console cubby has been redesigned with elasticated straps for added practicality.
Mini has also collaborated with outdoor brands Autohome and Helinox to create a roof tent and camping furniture that complement the Untamed makeover. The accessories are intended to reinforce the model's outdoor credentials and offer buyers a turnkey camping solution.
Holger Hampf, Mini's design chief, said: «The Untamed Edition highlights qualities that are already part of the Countryman's DNA: robustness, versatility and a spirit of exploration. Our goal was to emphasise these characteristics through carefully selected colours, materials and details while remaining true to the unmistakable Mini character.»
The Untamed Edition will also compete in the 11th Rebelle Rally, a 1,500-mile all-female navigational event across the Nevada and California desert. Felicia Killman will drive with Erika Ferrer as co-driver, putting the new trim through its paces in competitive off-road conditions.
Production of the road car is scheduled to begin in November, ahead of a launch in early 2027. Prices start at £33,595 for the petrol Countryman C, a rise of £550 over the existing Sport trim. The electric Countryman E is priced from £37,255, an increase of £4,400. The Untamed Edition is expected to set the Countryman apart from its more conventional rivals in Europe, tapping into a strong off-road styling trend in the US market.
