Calvin Klein has parted ways with Veronica Leoni, the creative director who led the American brand's luxury Collection line back onto the runway. The company announced on Thursday that Leoni is stepping down with immediate effect, and no successor has yet been named.

Leoni joined Calvin Klein in May 2024 as creative director of Calvin Klein Collection, the label's top-tier range. Her appointment made her the first woman to hold the role. She oversaw both men's and women's ready-to-wear and worked to sharpen the brand's cultural presence through red carpet placements and online visibility. Her debut show for the Fall 2025 season at New York Fashion Week marked the house's return to the catwalk.

David Savman, global brand president of Calvin Klein, paid tribute to her contribution in a statement. «I want to thank Veronica for her creative vision, commitment and partnership over the past two years,» he said. «Reintroducing Collection was a significant milestone for Calvin Klein, and Veronica's exceptional talent and fresh perspective on Calvin's iconic design codes helped build meaningful momentum for Collection.» He added that Collection remains an important part of the brand and that the company is «excited by the progress to date» as it looks to the line's continued evolution.

Leoni presented her fourth and final collection in September 2026, showing the Spring 2027 season. Over her tenure she delivered four collections for the American sportswear stalwart, according to Elle, which confirmed the departure. Her exit leaves a prominent vacancy at one of the best-known names in American fashion.

The move places Leoni among a growing group of high-profile designers currently available on the market. She joins the ranks of Anthony Vaccarello, Ib Kamara, Julien Dossena, Mark Thomas, Nicolas Di Felice and Seán McGirr as designers whose next moves will be closely watched by the industry.

For Calvin Klein, the challenge now is to maintain the momentum built around Collection without the creative lead who defined its recent chapter. The brand has not indicated when it will announce a replacement, and it remains to be seen how the luxury tier will evolve in the interim.
