Porsche has teased the Mission S concept, a mid-engined supercar that will debut at the Paris Motor Show as part of the Sportwagenschmiede '35 turnaround plan.

Porsche is preparing to unveil a new flagship supercar concept, the Mission S, at next week's Paris Motor Show. The mid-engined model is described by the brand as «our love letter to the sports car» and is intended to sit above the 911 in both price and performance, serving as a halo model for its wealthiest customers.
The Mission S was confirmed as part of a broader turnaround strategy, named Sportwagenschmiede '35, announced this week by CEO Michael Leiters. The plan aims to reverse recent declines in sales and profits by reducing production volume while increasing the profitability of each vehicle sold. A key element is raising the average selling price of Porsche's most expensive models by 20 percent and improving margins across the range.
Porsche has released a teaser video on its Instagram account showing glimpses of the Mission S, including its LED headlights, but has withheld technical details. The company states the concept offers a look at «a potential mid-engined super sports car platform for the future». It may draw inspiration from the Mission X concept revealed in 2023. The production version, if approved, would succeed the 918 Spyder and sit well above the 911, which currently ranges from around $138,000 to over $200,000.
Under the Sportwagenschmiede '35 plan, Porsche will cut the number of model variants by 20 percent, a move expected to boost sales volume of the remaining variants by 30 percent. The company also intends to leverage its heritage to deliver more «highly emotive» 911 variants and emphasise the 911's DNA across all models, including SUVs.
Specific product announcements include a replacement for the discontinued combustion-engined Macan, which will be sold alongside the Macan Electric and offer both petrol and hybrid powertrains. That model is scheduled to debut in 2028, by which time the electric 718 Boxster and Cayman will already be on sale. Porsche also plans to push the Cayenne further upmarket and launch an additional, more exclusive SUV positioned above it.
In a related move, Porsche has increased its stake in Manthey Racing to 67 percent. Manthey will operate under a new Performance banner, one of three new pillars of the business. The other pillars are Heritage and Exclusiveness, the latter covering the Sonderwunsch special wishes department and the Exclusive Manufaktur personalisation team, both of which Porsche intends to expand.
The Mission S concept will make its global debut at the Paris Motor Show, where further details about its design and potential production plans are expected to be revealed.
