A 1984 Audi 80 that was transformed into a replica of the legendary Sport Quattro is being offered for sale in the United States, complete with a turbocharged five-cylinder engine that has been tuned to produce as much as 660 horsepower.

The car was built by S1 Performance in Lithuania over a five-month period in 2015. The work included fitting a Kevlar and carbon-fibre body kit in the style of the factory Sport Quattro, along with Audi S2 brakes, KW racing suspension, Recaro leather and Alcantara seats, and a turbocharged 2.2-litre 20-valve inline-five engine. It was acquired by the current seller on Bring a Trailer in November 2018 and has since been extensively modified.

Under current ownership, the engine has received a Pulsar 5862G turbocharger, a custom tubular exhaust manifold, a custom 3-inch exhaust system, FIC 1650cc injectors, an upgraded fuel system, and a MaxxECU engine-management system with a custom wiring harness. Jeff Gerner-spec camshafts and Supertech valvetrain components were also fitted. The car was reportedly tuned on E85 to produce 660 horsepower and is currently tuned on 93-octane fuel at a claimed 450 horsepower.

Power is sent to all four wheels through an 01E six-speed manual transaxle that was installed under current ownership. The swap included a Wavetrac limited-slip differential, a Ringer Racing Stage 4 billet clutch and flywheel, a JHM 4:1 centre differential, and JHM shift linkage. The seller notes driveline noise.

The exterior is finished in Alpine White and features a carbon-fibre and Kevlar body kit consisting of a Sport Quattro-style hood, fenders, bumper covers, and side skirts. Smoked taillights, a raised rear spoiler, and Passat-sourced H4 headlights were fitted, along with splash guards. White-finished 16-inch Azev five-spoke wheels are mounted with Toyo Proxes R tyres measuring 225/50.

The suspension uses height-adjustable KW coilovers, and braking is handled by four-wheel discs using factory Audi S2 components. The tie-rod ends were replaced and a four-wheel alignment was performed in December 2024.

Inside, the cabin houses Recaro C81 sport seats trimmed in black leather and microsuede. Additional equipment includes an ABT-style pod with auxiliary gauges, a JVC head unit, an AM/FM radio, and a newer differential-lock control panel. The seller notes that the air conditioning does not work. An Audi Sport three-spoke steering wheel has been fitted along with a green VDO digital instrument cluster with a trip computer and LCD screens, supplemented by digital readouts for oil temperature and voltage mounted in the centre stack.

The odometer indicates 87,000 miles, though total mileage is unknown. The ignition lock cylinder and housing were replaced in December 2024. December 2024 records also note replacement of the battery, timing belt, impulse sender, cam sensor, and oxygen sensor, as well as installation of oil feed and return lines, a wastegate, a charge-pipe kit, a Turbo XS blow-off valve, inconel heat shielding, and fuel-system components.

The car is now offered as part of the Tons Of Gas Auto Collection in Charlotte, North Carolina, with service records and a Montana title in the seller’s LLC name. It is titled as a 1984 Audi 80 coupe using VIN WAUZZZ81ZFA064968.
