A 1960 Porsche 356B Super 90 coupe that was refinished in Dolphin Gray and later modified by Rotiform Wheels is being offered for sale on dealer consignment. The car, which was delivered from the factory in Signal Red, has been fitted with an Airlift Performance air suspension system, four-wheel disc brakes and custom three-piece 17-inch wheels. It is accompanied by three binders of refurbishment photos and service records, a Porsche Classic Technical Certificate and a clean California title.

The T5 body was introduced for the 1960 model year with revised front-end styling, including raised bumpers and headlights along with a redesigned front trunk lid handle. This Reutter-built example underwent bodywork and rust repairs before being refinished in Dolphin Gray in 2013. A number of trim pieces were replaced at that time. Features include a left mirror, gold Super 90 badging, exhaust outlets that exit through the rear bumper guards, and a single-grille decklid with louvers.

After being acquired by Rotiform Wheels, the car was modified with an Airlift Performance air suspension system, which has Bluetooth capability and can be adjusted via an in-cabin controller. Rotiform 17-inch three-piece wheels are mounted with 195/45 Yokohama Advan Fleva tires. A four-wheel disc brake conversion was carried out and incorporates Wilwood calipers with cross-drilled rotors up front along with solid discs out back.

The cabin houses front bucket seats trimmed in black leatherette that extends to the door panels and rear compartment. The dash pad was recovered in 2015 by Autos International of Escondido, California. Black carpets line the floors, while the ceiling wears a perforated black headliner. Latch-and-link lap belts and headrests are fitted for the front occupants. The leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts green-letter VDO instrumentation including a central 6k-rpm tachometer flanked by a 120-mph speedometer and a combination gauge. Supplementary VDO gauges monitoring oil pressure and voltage are mounted below a Porsche-branded radio blanking plate. The five-digit odometer shows 27k miles.

The 616/36 flat-four was sourced from a 912 and features ported cylinder heads. It was rebuilt and increased in displacement by Competition Engineering of Lake Isabella, California, in 2014, using 90mm JE pistons and Dura-Bar cylinders. A Precision Motors full-flow oil filter adapter and an aluminum oil cooler were also installed. The electrical system has been converted to 12 volts using a Bosch alternator, and the car is equipped with an MSD 6AL ignition box. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Type 741/2 four-speed manual transaxle, which was overhauled in 2014. A 200mm lightweight flywheel and a 901 throw-out bearing conversion kit have been installed.

The Porsche Classic Technical Certificate notes powertrain numbers, colors, options and the results of a July 2026 inspection. Photos taken during various stages of the refurbishment are provided in the gallery. The car is titled using chassis number 114424 shown on the reproduction plate above. The chassis stamp is inaccessible due to the airlift system in the front trunk.

The 356B Super 90 remains a significant model in Porsche’s early history, representing a period when the marque was establishing its reputation for lightweight, rear-engined sports cars. This example’s combination of a replacement engine, modern suspension and braking upgrades, and extensive documentation places it in a distinct category among restored 356s. The sale offers collectors an opportunity to acquire a modified yet well-documented early Porsche with a clear provenance file.
