1986 Porsche 911 Turbo Coupe with $68k Restoration Offered for Sale
A 1986 Porsche 911 Turbo coupe, retained by its current owner for over 20 years and recently treated to over $68,000 in mechanical and suspension work, is now available on consignment.

A 1986 Porsche 911 Turbo coupe that has been with its current owner for more than two decades is now offered for sale on consignment. The car, finished in Guards Red over beige upholstery, has recently benefited from over $68,000 in refurbishment work, including a full engine rebuild and a comprehensive suspension overhaul. It shows 63,000 miles on the odometer and comes with service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Texas title.
The 930-generation Turbo is a landmark model for Porsche, known for its aggressive stance and potent turbocharged flat-six engine. This example left the factory with standard Turbo features such as front and rear spoilers, headlight washers, fog lights, and a rear wiper. It also has a sunroof, dual exhaust outlets, and stone guards. The exterior is captured in close-up photographs provided in the gallery.
Under the hood, the turbocharged 3.3-litre flat-six was factory rated at 282 horsepower and 278 lb-ft of torque, sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. The engine was rebuilt in 2024 by European Service Center of Dallas, Texas, with replacement pistons, cylinders, bearings, and timing chains, along with a rebuilt turbocharger, cylinder heads, and camshafts. The clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel were also replaced, as were the wiring harness, battery, and various ignition components. The transaxle itself was rebuilt in 2002 and again in 2014. The seller notes that the air conditioning system was recently repaired.
The suspension was overhauled in 2024 with replacement strut inserts, strut mounts, bump stops, ball joints, control arm bushings, sway bar links, shocks, trailing arm bushings, spring plate bushings, and torsion bars. Braking is handled by four-wheel cross-drilled and ventilated discs, and Turbo models received front and rear sway bars as standard. The car rides on 16-inch Fuchs alloy wheels mounted with Bridgestone Potenza tyres.
Inside, the seats are trimmed in beige upholstery, and a Porsche Classic Communication Management head unit has been installed. An aftermarket three-spoke steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation, including a central tachometer with a 6,700-rpm redline, a 170-mph speedometer, and gauges for oil pressure, oil temperature, oil level, fuel level, and boost pressure. The six-digit odometer shows 63,000 miles.
The car is offered on consignment by a selling dealer, a BaT Local Partner. It is accompanied by service records, a clean Carfax report free of accidents or other reported damage, and a clean Texas title. Additional underside photos are provided in the gallery.
