A 1973 Volvo 1800ES, the final version of the P1800 sports line and a shooting brake with a glass rear hatch, is being offered at auction after more than five decades in one family's hands. The car was bought in 1975 by the seller's husband from its original owner, and ownership passed to the seller in 2022.

The car has been refurbished over the years. It was repainted in its factory Sun Yellow in 2007, and the floor pan sections were replaced with new sheet metal. The bumpers and exterior trim have been re-chromed, and the weather seals were renewed when the glass was reinstalled. The car is equipped with a roof rack and twin exhausts. The odometer shows 115,000 miles, and the Florida title is in the seller's name, with the odometer notation listed as "Exempt".

Mechanically, the car is powered by a 2.0-litre B20 inline-four with Bosch D-Jetronic fuel injection. Its factory rating is about 112 horsepower and 115 lb-ft of torque. Work carried out on the drivetrain includes replacement of the front and rear engine seals in 2016, electronic ignition fitted in 2019, and tune-up parts installed in 2021. The oil was changed in 2026, though oil drips on the underside of the driveline are noted. The four-speed manual gearbox has an electric overdrive, and the clutch was reportedly replaced in 2016. The seller's maintenance dates have not been independently verified.

The braking system uses power-assisted discs on all four wheels, with pads, rotors and front shocks replaced in 2016. The car rides on retrofitted 15-inch Virgo alloy wheels with older Pirelli tyres, and visible cracks in the tyre sidewalls are reported. The interior has black leather seats, a CD stereo and aftermarket rear speakers. The air conditioning has been converted to R134a refrigerant, and a replacement headliner, carpet and sound insulation have been fitted.

Some wear is also documented. The driver's seat back seam is separating, the dashboard pad has a crack, the fuel gauge is reported to be inaccurate and the analogue clock no longer works. There is a dent in the right door trim and a blemish below the left rear bumper.

The sale includes a set of stock steel wheels with tyres, spare parts, Volvo literature, a service manual, tool and first-aid kits, three sets of keys and records of the refurbishment work.
