A rare 1992 BMW 850i coupe, originally intended for the Japanese market, is listed on Bring a Trailer with no reserve price. The car, finished in Sterling Silver Metallic with black leather interior, belongs to the E31 generation and has covered 106,000 kilometers, roughly 66,000 miles. The seller notes that about 5,000 kilometers have been added under the current owner.

According to the seller, the car spent some time in Dubai, was imported to Canada in 2009, and was bought by the current owner in April 2025 on the same platform. The US Carfax report has a first entry from July 2009 and a damage notation from June 2025, so the car's history can be traced from its first registration. The Minnesota title is issued in the seller's name and contains a note that the document may be subject to an undisclosed lien. The sale includes the owner's manual and service records.

Under the hood is a 5.0-liter M70B50 V12 engine, which was rated by the factory at 295 horsepower and 331 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. Work carried out since 2023 includes replacement of the oil pan gasket, intake manifold gaskets, valve cover gasket and spark plugs, according to the seller. The oil was changed under the current owner, and both batteries were replaced in 2026.

The suspension has been lowered with MTS Technik springs, and the car rides on 18-inch M Parallel Style 37 staggered-width steel wheels with Continental and Pirelli tires. Anti-lock brakes operate on ventilated discs at all four wheels. The rear axle bushings and ball joints were replaced in 2024, addressing the suspension components that typically show wear on cars of this age.

The cabin is trimmed in black buffalo leather and features heated, power-adjustable front seats, separate rear seats, and driver position memory. It also has dual-zone automatic climate control, a trip computer, and an Alpine CD head unit with Bluetooth support. The seller will hand over the original factory head unit with the car. The steering wheel with airbag sits on a power-tilt column and frames a speedometer scaled to 300 km/h, a tachometer, and coolant temperature and fuel level gauges. The electric rear sunshade does not work.

There are also faults that the seller discloses openly. The sunroof opens fully to the rear, as shown in the video, but the lifting mechanism does not function. Spare lift guides are included with the sale, but the required repair has not yet been identified. Rust is also visible on the outside of the rear mufflers, although the seller says the exhaust system does not leak. Additional underbody photos are shown in the gallery.

The coupe body has no center pillars. The hood, roof and left rear fender were repainted under a previous owner, while the driver's door and left rear fender were straightened after damage under the current owner. The car also has fog lamps, pop-up headlights and four exhaust tips. The lot is offered with no minimum price, and photos of the damage before repairs are included at the end of the gallery.
