A 1967 Jaguar XKE Series I 4.2 Roadster, restored and maintained with documented service history, is offered for sale by a BaT Local Partner on behalf of its owner.

A 1967 Jaguar XKE Series I 4.2 Roadster is being offered for sale by a BaT Local Partner on behalf of its current owner, with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace certificate, service records, and a Rhode Island registration in the owner's name. The car was manufactured on 25 January 1967 and dispatched the following February, and it has been with the present owner since 2019.
Finished in British Racing Green over tan leather, the roadster is equipped with a black convertible top, glass-covered headlights, 15-inch wire-spoke wheels, power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes, dual side mirrors, triple windshield wipers, a Sony stereo with Bluetooth, and a heater. The Series I E-Types are distinguished by their glass-covered headlights and taillights mounted above the wraparound chrome rear bumpers. This example left the factory in Dark Blue and was refinished in British Racing Green under previous ownership.
In 2015, the cowl, louvered clamshell hood, and rocker panels were refinished, body damage on the right front was repaired, and the windshield wiper nozzles and blades, antenna assembly, and convertible top seals were replaced. The 15-inch wire wheels were installed in 2001 and are secured by two-eared knock-offs and mounted with 205/70 Michelin Energy MXV4 Plus tires. Braking is provided by power-assisted four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors, and a Coppercraft vented front brake conversion was installed in 2001. Suspension work in 2015 included installing urethane front bushings and Boge shock absorbers at all four corners as well as replacing the upper and lower front ball joints, tie rod ends, and rear radius arm mounts. The brake master cylinder was replaced in 2016.
The seats were recovered in tan leather in 2015, at which time the center console, armrest, and rear bulkhead panels were also recovered, and the carpets and leather shift boot were replaced. Appointments include black vinyl dash trim, tan seatbelts, a sliding rearview mirror, a Sony stereo with Bluetooth, and a heater. The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer, while auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are located in the center of the dashboard. The clock was updated to a quartz movement and the speedometer was overhauled and recalibrated in 2015. The five-digit odometer shows 67k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership.
The 4.2-litre inline-six was replaced under previous ownership. Equipment includes triple SU carburettors, a Mallory electronic ignition distributor, a Mallory hi-energy ignition coil, an electronic fuel pump, and a GM 145-amp alternator. Work in 2015 included replacing the front crankshaft seal and oil pan gasket, overhauling the oil filter housing, and polishing the valve covers and carburettor suction chambers. The carburettors were repaired and the front and rear exhaust manifolds and downpipes were replaced in 2016. Power is routed to the rear wheels through a full-synchromesh four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The differential was overhauled in 2015 with replacement pinion and side axle bearings.
The car is accompanied by a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, which is included in the sale. This Series I XKE represents a well-documented example of the model that helped define Jaguar's reputation for combining performance with elegance, and it is now available to a new owner.
