A 1993 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra that has covered just 66 miles from new is being offered for sale in Tennessee, giving collectors a rare chance to acquire a Fox-body performance model that has remained in storage for almost its entire existence.
The car was purchased new by its original owner from Roy Raymond Ford of Twin Falls, Idaho, and stayed under their care until 2026. It is finished in Teal Metallic over Opal Grey leather, a factory combination that has survived three decades without the wear normally associated with road use.
Power comes from a 302ci V8 linked to a five-speed manual transmission and a Traction-Lok rear axle. The engine features a Cobra-specific upper intake manifold and camshaft, a 65mm throttle body, GT40 cast-iron cylinder heads and aluminium roller rockers. Factory-rated output was 235 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. An oil change has been carried out in preparation for the sale.
The SVT Cobra was the first model to emerge from Ford's Special Vehicle Team, the in-house division established to produce limited-run performance versions of mainstream cars. Launched for 1993, it marked the final flourish of the Fox-body Mustang before the platform was replaced, and it remains a landmark car for enthusiasts of American performance machinery.
Equipment includes the Preferred Equipment Package, which added air conditioning along with power windows, mirrors and door locks. The car also has a power-adjustable driver's seat, a CD stereo, 17-inch turbine-style alloy wheels, a raised rear spoiler, fog lights, Cobra badging and polished dual exhaust tips. The centre caps have been removed but are included in the sale.
SVT-specific suspension components include custom-valved Tokico shocks and struts along with revised springs and sway bars. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes. The wheels are mounted with older Goodyear Eagle ZR45 tyres.
Inside, the Opal Grey leather upholstery is matched by colour-coordinated carpets and trim. A four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5,900-rpm redline, plus gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 66 miles.
The car is accompanied by its original window sticker, which lists initial delivery to Roy Raymond Ford of Twin Falls, Idaho, along with factory colours, options and a total price of $21,223. A clean Carfax report shows no accidents or damage, although a January 2017 entry notes the vehicle's colour as yellow. The car carries a clean Idaho title.
Scrapes are visible on the underside of the front bumper cover, the only notable blemish on an otherwise preserved example. The selling dealer is offering the car in Tennessee.
Low-mileage examples of the 1993 SVT Cobra have become highly sought after in recent years as the model's status has grown among collectors of modern classics. Cars that have remained in long-term storage with their original documentation are particularly prized, and the combination of a 66-mile odometer reading, factory paperwork and a clean history places this example among the more significant Fox-body Mustangs to reach the market.
The sale includes the window sticker, the Carfax report and the clean Idaho title, giving prospective buyers a documented record of the car's history from its first delivery in Twin Falls to its current offering in Tennessee.
