Unrestored 1969 Pontiac GTO hardtop heads to no-reserve auction

A largely original 1969 Pontiac GTO hardtop in Antique Gold, delivered new in Washington state and kept by one family until 2026, is being offered without a reserve.

A 1969 Pontiac GTO hardtop coupe, finished in Antique Gold with a black Cordova roof, is being offered without a reserve, giving buyers the chance to take home a car with a long single-family history and largely original paintwork. The car was delivered new to Vic Cox Motors of Arlington, Washington, and stayed registered with the first owner’s family until the current seller acquired it in 2026.

The coupe is powered by a 400ci V8 with a four-barrel carburetor and dual-snorkel air cleaner, mated to a three-speed Turbo Hydra-Matic automatic transmission that sends power to the rear wheels. The seller reports that work completed in August 2026 included cleaning the fuel system, replacing the battery and exhaust piping, rebuilding the carburetor, and completing fluid services. The factory front disc brake system has also been fitted with a new master cylinder and booster in preparation for the sale.

The seller believes the car has not been repainted, with the exception of the front-left fender, which received dent repair and paint blending. Exterior equipment includes a color-keyed Endura front bumper, quad headlights, a twin-scoop hood and dual exhaust outlets. Wheels are 14-inch Rally II units wearing Cooper Cobra Radial G/T white-letter tyres, which were installed in September 2026, and a full-size spare sits in the trunk.

The listing does not hide imperfections. Rust is reported at the bottom of the rear window channel, atop the rear deck and under the rocker panel trim, while a windshield chip and roof repairs near the rear window are shown in the gallery. Such details are presented openly, allowing prospective buyers to judge the condition for themselves.

Inside, the front bucket seats and rear bench are trimmed in black vinyl, with faux woodgrain accents on the instrument panel and centre console. Equipment includes a padded dashboard, front-seat headrests, an AM radio, a heater and a defroster. The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer alongside an analog clock with an inset timer and a combination gauge covering engine temperature, oil pressure and fuel level. Power steering and power-assisted front disc brakes are also fitted.

The five-digit odometer reads 68,000 miles, and the seller says it has rolled over. About 200 miles have been added under the current ownership. The trim tag identifies the car as style 69-24237, a 1969 GTO two-door hardtop coupe, assembled in Fremont, California, with black vinyl trim, Antique Gold paint with a black Cordova roof, and production in the third week of October.

The sale is supported by PHS Automotive Services documentation, a Protect-O-Plate, historical vehicle records and a Washington title in the seller’s name. The title carries an Antique brand, a designation that is noted in the listing and which prospective buyers will want to account for when assessing the car’s value.
