Alfa Romeo Names New Concept Cuorerosso Ahead of Paris Debut

Alfa Romeo has finally revealed the name of its forthcoming concept car: Cuorerosso. The Italian manufacturer confirmed the moniker alongside a new teaser image, ending weeks of speculation. The name translates roughly as «Red Heart», and the car is scheduled to make its world premiere at the Paris Motor Show on October 12 at 10:55 a.m. CEST.

The choice of name is deliberate. Alfa Romeo says red represents passion and the brand's creative imagination, while the heart symbolises the emotional bond between its cars and their drivers. Combined, Cuorerosso is described by the company as a «declaration of intent» for a vehicle designed first and foremost to excite. It is a message aimed squarely at enthusiasts who still value the experience of driving.

That philosophical framing aligns with earlier statements from Alfa Romeo. The automaker previously called the then-unnamed concept a «manifesto» for its future, drawing inspiration from Italy, sportiness and the colour red. It also said the car was created for people who love driving and would demonstrate the «full creative strength» of the brand. The latest teaser confirms that the concept is not merely a styling exercise but a statement about the direction Alfa Romeo intends to take.

Despite the name and the teaser image, concrete technical details remain scarce. Alfa Romeo has not disclosed the powertrain, platform, dimensions or performance figures, nor has it confirmed exactly what type of vehicle the Cuorerosso will be. The company appears content to discuss hearts, passion, instinct and emotion while keeping the actual car under wraps until the Paris show.

What can be inferred from previous teasers is that the Cuorerosso is unlikely to be another crossover. Earlier footage showed flashes of low, sculpted red bodywork, suggesting a sportier silhouette. Alfa Romeo also released a social media post containing a list of potential names, including Battito («Beat» or «Heartbeat»), Biscione («Big Snake») and Passione («Passion»). Cuorerosso appeared on that same list, and all the words fit the brand's emotional and heritage-driven narrative.

The Paris Motor Show will be the first opportunity to judge whether the Cuorerosso is a genuine turning point or simply an attractive concept. The car will be unveiled on October 12 and will remain on display through October 18. Until then, Alfa Romeo is expected to continue drip-feeding information, though the essential facts are now clear: the concept has a name, a date and a clear emotional brief.

For a marque with a long history of producing driver-focused machines, the Cuorerosso represents an attempt to reconnect with that legacy. Whether it previews a production model or serves purely as a design study, its reception in Paris will be closely watched by enthusiasts and industry observers alike. The name may be poetic, but the stakes are practical: Alfa Romeo needs to show that its future is as compelling as its past.
