A rare 1994 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 widebody coupe, one of just 267 examples delivered to the North American market, has been listed for sale following an extensive refurbishment completed in late 2025. The car, a 964-generation model, is offered on consignment by a selling dealer and is said to have remained in the original owner's family until 2024.
The refurbishment was thorough. The exterior was stripped and repainted in the factory shade of Midnight Blue Metallic, with the glass removed for the process. A replacement windshield, lower front valance, weather seals, emblems, sunroof hinges, and assorted trim were installed. A used rear spoiler and rear centre bumper components were also sourced and fitted. The interior was re-trimmed in Cashmere Beige leather with colour-coordinated carpets, and the optional rootwood shifter knob was refinished with an aluminium insert. A used Porsche CD-2 stereo head unit was installed along with a Blaupunkt Bluetooth amplifier and a remote door lock controller, though the seller notes the AM/FM/CD functions are disabled.
Mechanically, the air-cooled 3.6-litre M64 flat-six, factory rated at 247 horsepower and 228 lb-ft of torque, was overhauled between 2022 and 2025. Dougherty Racing reground camshafts, ARP rod bolts and cylinder head studs, and 993-specification engine mounts were installed. The five-speed manual transaxle and front differential were resealed, the axles rebuilt, and the clutch and hydraulic components replaced. The suspension received Bilstein B16 dampers, along with new springs, bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends, steering rack boots, sway bar end links, and wheel bearings. A rebuilt power steering pump was also fitted, and assorted brake components were replaced.
The car rides on silver-finished 17-inch Cup wheels with staggered-width Michelin Pilot Sport 4ZP tyres showing 2023 and 2024 production codes. Exterior equipment includes a speed-activated rear spoiler, an electric sunroof, integrated fog lights, a rear window wiper, and heated power-adjustable side mirrors. Inside, appointments include heated power-adjustable front bucket seats, power lumbar support for the driver, cruise control, air conditioning, power windows, and keyless entry. The leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation, including a central tachometer with a 6,800-rpm redline and a 180-mph speedometer that was refurbished with a replacement face and new gears. LED cluster lighting was added, and a Quarz analogue clock sits alongside gauges for oil level, oil pressure, oil temperature, and fuel level.
The six-digit odometer shows 172,000 miles, with an estimated 1,200 miles added since the refurbishment. The car is accompanied by three keys, a tool kit, an air compressor, a refurbishment summary and records, and a clean Carfax report showing no accidents or damage. The New York title lists the odometer reading as «Exempt Vehicle Over 10 Years Old». Manufacturer's literature is also included. The option sticker confirms the car was specified with Midnight Blue Metallic paint, Cashmere leather seats with a black dashboard, a dark rootwood shift knob, wheel caps with full-colour Porsche crests, heated seats, an 8-way electrical seat for both driver and passenger, cruise control, an amplifier, power lumbar support, a power sunroof, a CD radio, and supple leather front and rear seats. It was also equipped with Exclusive Program options.
The 964-generation Carrera 4 is distinguished by its computer-controlled limited-slip differential and all-wheel-drive system, a significant technological step for Porsche when introduced. The widebody variant, with its flared arches, is particularly sought after by collectors. This example, with its comprehensive refurbishment and documented history, represents a rare opportunity for enthusiasts of air-cooled Porsches.
