A 1997 Porsche 911 Turbo with just 23,000 miles and a comprehensive 2023 mechanical recommissioning is offered for sale in California, complete with service records and a clean Carfax report.

A 1997 Porsche 911 Turbo showing just 23,000 miles has been listed for sale in California, offering collectors a rare opportunity to acquire one of the most celebrated air-cooled 911 variants with a fully documented mechanical overhaul completed under current ownership.
The car was acquired by the seller in 2021, and a subsequent mechanical recommissioning in 2023 involved removing and servicing the twin-turbocharged 3.6-litre flat-six engine. The six-speed manual transaxle and front differential were resealed, and the clutch, flywheel, timing chain, driveline mounts, and assorted ignition, exhaust, steering, brake, and suspension components were replaced. The power unit was removed from the car during the refurbishment, at which point the timing chain, accessory drive belts, spark plugs and ignition wires, engine mounts, valve cover gaskets, assorted oil seals, timing chain cover gaskets, runner air intake components, intercooler hoses, oil pressure sensor, and air filter were all renewed.
Finished in black over matching full leather upholstery, the car features xenon headlights with washers, integrated fog lights, a fixed rear spoiler, a power sunroof, and a rear window wiper. It rides on 18-inch hollow-spoke wheels mounted with staggered-width Michelin Pilot Sport tyres, supported by Bilstein PSS9 dampers at each corner and a front strut tower brace. The seller notes that a ceramic coating has been applied to the exterior under current ownership.
Inside, the heated and power-adjustable front sport seats feature body-colour backs and black leather trim that extends to the door panels, dashboard, and centre console. Additional appointments include red seatbelts, a Rennline dead pedal and pedal covers, an aluminium-trimmed shift knob and parking brake lever, stainless-steel Turbo-branded door sills, a Becker-Porsche CR-210 CD stereo, cruise control, and automatic climate control. A leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a central tachometer, a 200-mph speedometer, an analog Quarz clock, and gauges for oil pressure, oil temperature, oil level, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 22,000 miles, approximately 2,000 of which were added under current ownership.
The 993-generation Turbo featured wider bodywork, revised bumper covers, and a fixed rear spoiler to accommodate top-mount intercoolers when compared with the standard 993 coupe. It was the first 911 to feature multi-link rear suspension, and this example is equipped with an Automatic Brake Differential. The twin-turbocharged 3.6-litre flat-six was factory equipped with Bosch Motronic fuel injection and was rated at 400 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is sent to all four wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle with a limited-slip differential.
Refurbishment work following the seller's purchase is said to have included resealing the steering rack and replacing the brake master cylinder, accumulator, calipers, pads, lines, and rotors. The brake fluid was flushed, and the tie rods, control arm bushings, and front and rear anti-sway bar bushings were also replaced. The flywheel, clutch, rear main seal, transaxle mounts, and exhaust sealing rings were replaced during the recommissioning, along with the gear oil in the transaxle and front differential. Replacement stock-specification tuned mufflers were installed, the exhaust components were vapour-blasted, and the undercarriage was cleaned with dry ice. The car most recently passed a California smog test in April 2026.
The sale includes a binder of service and refurbishment records, a window sticker copy, an owner's manual, a tool kit, a portable air compressor, a car cover, and a clean Carfax report showing no accidents or other reported damage. The car carries a clean Montana title in the name of the seller's LLC. Decoding the option sticker reveals black paint, black full leather upholstery, US-market specification, stainless-steel sill plates, an aluminium shift knob, an aluminium parking brake lever, cruise control, a power sunroof, and a Becker-Porsche CDC-3 six-disc CD changer.
