Hyundai Palisade High Roof Brings Private Jet Headroom to the Flagship SUV
Hyundai has updated the Korean-spec Palisade for 2027, introducing a High Roof variant with 240mm of extra headroom, plus new Black Ink and XRT trims.

Hyundai has expanded its flagship Palisade SUV lineup in South Korea with a new High Roof variant that offers significantly more interior space, along with fresh Black Ink and XRT trims for the 2027 model year. The High Roof model extends the roofline upward by 240mm (9.4 inches), creating a cabin that Hyundai says feels like a VIP shuttle bus or a private jet for the road. Despite the extra height, the Palisade High Roof maintains an overall height of 2,005mm (78.9 inches), ensuring it can still fit into standard underground parking structures.
The High Roof variant is visually distinguished by a body-colored roof extension with aluminium-style inserts, black window surrounds, and 21-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the custom roof structure includes pop-up LED reading lights, climate vents, a climate control panel, a standard 21.4-inch display, and a Starry Sky ambient ceiling that adds a touch of Rolls-Royce flair. An optional VIP Package 2 adds a second-row multi-console with dual wireless smartphone charging pads, an integrated air purifier, UV-C sterilisation, temperature-controlled cup holders, and plush floor mats. The rest of the interior is carried over from the standard Palisade, with seven or nine seats arranged in three rows.
The 2027 Korean-spec Palisade also gains the Black Ink trim, which is based on the Calligraphy grade and adds stealthy black accents, emblems, and 21-inch alloy wheels. Unlike the US version, the Korean Black Ink comes standard with the Preview Electronically Controlled Suspension (ECS) and second-row massaging seats. The ECS uses a front camera and navigation data to scan the road ahead and automatically adjust the shock absorbers. Meanwhile, the XRT trim is a styling package in Korea, without the lifted suspension, eLSD, all-terrain tyres, and off-road electronics of the US-spec XRT Pro. It does add a unique front grille, extra cladding, roof rails, 20-inch wheels, a 14-speaker Bose audio system, and second-row ventilated seats.
The entry-level Palisade Exclusive also receives enhancements for 2027, including a standard panoramic curved display and a more sophisticated advanced driver assistance suite. The powertrain lineup remains unchanged, with a turbocharged 2.5-litre petrol engine producing 277hp (207kW) mated to an eight-speed automatic, and a self-charging hybrid option delivering 329hp (245kW) paired with a six-speed automatic. Both setups are available in front- and all-wheel drive configurations.
In South Korea, the updated Palisade is priced from ₩44.78 million ($32,300) for the entry-level Exclusive nine-seater with the petrol engine. The XRT starts at ₩52.11 million ($37,700), the Black Ink at ₩57.67 million ($41,700), and the most expensive model is the Palisade High Roof Hybrid with a seven-seater cabin, priced at ₩81.59 million ($59,000).
