A 2000 model year Mercedes-Benz SL500 is being auctioned with no reserve. According to the listing, the R129-generation roadster has 34,000 miles on the odometer and is one of the more sought-after examples of this generation, which collectors value for its solid build quality. The seller is a dealer offering the car without a minimum bid, so the car will be sold to the highest bidder, regardless of how high that final bid turns out to be.

The car was originally sold new in Connecticut and remained registered there until 2026, before being transferred to Pennsylvania, where it is now offered with a clean title. It is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic (paint code 744), combined with an Ash Nappa leather interior. The convertible is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 of type M113, which was factory-rated at 302 hp and 339 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission. The speedometer reads up to 160 mph, and the tachometer goes up to 7,000 rpm.

Equipment includes the SL1 Sport Package, which adds an aerodynamically styled lower body. Additional features include 18-inch AMG five-spoke wheels, xenon headlights, fog lights, and fender air intakes. The vehicle also has a removable hardtop in matching paint and a black fabric soft top. Inside, there are heated, power-adjustable seats with memory function, a Bose sound system, a CD changer, cruise control, and automatic climate control. A pop-up roll bar is said to provide protection in the event of a rollover. The steering wheel is finished in leather and wood, which is also used on the doors and center console.

The seller states that the hydraulic cylinders for the soft top have already been replaced. The brake system uses discs and ABS on all four wheels. The Michelin tires were fitted in 2015, and the valve cover gaskets were renewed in 2018. A Carfax report records a "minor damage" entry from July 2020, which the seller says is documented in the photo gallery. Signs of wear around the vehicle are also said to be captured in the photos, according to the listing. The digital odometer reads 34,000 miles.

The included documentation consists of the factory sticker listing the equipment and the total price of US$91,010, the owner's manual, a wind deflector, and service records. The vehicle is offered by the seller with no reserve, meaning it will be sold without a minimum bid and the highest bid wins. The auction runs on the Bring a Trailer platform, which specializes in classic and collector vehicles.
