A 1989 Jeep Grand Wagoneer that has been extensively modified is being offered for sale, with its current owner having invested more than $25,000 in cosmetic refurbishment and mechanical upgrades. The SJ-generation full-size SUV is fitted with a 5.3-litre Vortec V8, a 6L80E six-speed automatic transmission and a custom suspension lift, and is presented as a ready-to-drive restomod with a documented history.

The truck was first modified under previous ownership, when a 5.3-litre Vortec V8 was installed alongside the six-speed automatic and a suspension lift kit with remote-reservoir Fox front and Bilstein rear shocks. The vehicle was later bought in August 2025 by the current owner, who commissioned a further round of work. The body was repainted white, the front seats were retrimmed in Cordovan upholstery, and the woodgrain body trim was replaced. The steering wheel and instrument cluster were also changed as part of the refurbishment.

Braking has been upgraded to a four-wheel disc setup, with Wilwood front calipers over cross-drilled and slotted rotors at the front. The truck rides on 15-inch forged aluminium wheels wrapped in 33x10.5-inch BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tyres. Its lifted suspension is complemented by a front sway bar, Warn manually locking front hubs, aluminium front control arms and Johnny Joints. Additional equipment includes a receiver hitch, Hella fog lights, air conditioning and an Alpine head unit with Bluetooth connectivity.

Under the bonnet, the 5.3-litre LC9 Vortec V8 was sourced from a 2012 Suburban and installed in 2019. An aluminium radiator and a custom air intake system have been fitted. Power reaches the rear wheels or all four through the six-speed automatic and a dual-range transfer case, and RB front and rear differential covers have been added. Trailer Package B was factory-optioned and includes a Class III receiver hitch and a seven-wire heavy-duty wiring harness.

The interior has been refreshed throughout. The sun visors were reupholstered, the rear cargo trim, carpet and side panelling were replaced, and rubberised floor mats now line the footwells. The power-adjustable front seats were retrimmed in Cordovan leather and cloth in August 2026, when the cushions were also replaced. A later-model steering wheel has been retrofitted together with Dakota Digital VHX instrumentation, including a 120-mph speedometer, an 8,000-rpm tachometer and gauges for oil pressure, fuel level, coolant temperature and voltage.

Exterior work included a partial disassembly of the vehicle, body repairs, and the replacement of weatherstripping, door seals, marker light assemblies and emblems. The truck is finished in white with teak-style woodgrain vinyl accents and carries Hella fog lights, ceramic window tint film, and a roof rack, bumpers and mirror caps. The fog lights are shown without covers in the accompanying gallery.

Not everything is in working order. The rear window wiper does not function, the grille is cracked and the cruise control does not work. The digital odometer reads 210,000 miles, with approximately 1,000 miles added under current ownership.

A pre-purchase inspection was carried out in September 2026 by High Country Performance 4x4 of Englewood, Colorado, and the owner subsequently addressed the findings. Work under current ownership included changing the fluids, replacing the axle seals and bearings, and fitting a new fuel tank and pump. The air conditioning system was serviced in June 2026, and the truck passed a Colorado emissions test the same year.

The sale includes records for the work performed under current ownership, an assortment of spare, unused and removed factory parts, and a clean Colorado title. The Carfax report shows no accidents or other reported damage. It also notes that entries from May 2007 and July 2019 listed the vehicle as a Gross Polluter in California, although the truck passed subsequent emissions inspections in April 2008 and August 2019. The consigning dealer is a Bring a Trailer Local Partner.
