A 1970 Chevrolet Corvette coupe owned by a single family since new is up for sale, with a replacement short block, a 1994 ZZ1 crate V8 and a handwritten maintenance ledger covering nearly five decades.

A 1970 Chevrolet Corvette coupe from the third generation of the model, the C3, is being offered for sale after nearly five decades in the hands of a single family. The car was bought new by the seller's late father, and its history is recorded in detail, from an early engine failure to a series of recent mechanical renewals.
The original engine failed on the drive home from the dealership, a setback that shaped the car's early life. The problem was resolved with a warranty short block, installed as a replacement. That unit is included with the sale, so a buyer receives not only the running car but also the spare component that restored it. In 1991 the car was repainted in Donnybrooke Green, code 982, a colour that remains part of its identity. A handwritten maintenance ledger covering the years from 1970 to 2019 accompanies the vehicle, documenting its service life across the decades of single-family ownership.
Under the bonnet sits a 350 cubic-inch ZZ1 crate V8, installed in 1994. It is fed by a Holley 650-cfm double-pumper carburettor and paired with a three-speed automatic gearbox. The rear end uses a Positraction limited-slip differential, which helps distribute power to both rear wheels. Between June and September 2026 the fuel pump, regulator, filter and lines were all replaced, addressing the fuel delivery system directly and giving the car a fresh fuel supply from pump to carburettor.
The equipment list is generous for a car of this age. It includes removable roof panels, pop-up headlights, power steering, power four-wheel disc brakes, air conditioning and power windows. In July 2026 the headlight springs and vacuum actuators were replaced, so the pop-up mechanism that defines the car's front end has been refreshed along with the rest of the systems.
The car is not without faults, and the listing is candid about them. The wiper door does not open automatically and works only when opened manually. The tachometer is inoperative, leaving the driver without engine speed readings. The odometer shows 18,000 after a rollover, a detail that the listing leaves for buyers to weigh against the car's documented history. Paint imperfections are visible, and black tape repairs can be seen on the armrest, marks of ordinary use rather than concealed damage.
The trim tag shows the car was built on July 8, 1970, and it has a black leather interior. The window sticker records delivery to McKeever Chevrolet in Ferris, Texas, the dealership where the car first entered the market. The vehicle carries a clean Mississippi title in the seller's name, which simplifies the transfer of ownership. Also included are the owner's manual, service records, spare parts and a car cover, the accessories that complete a collection built over half a century.
