A heavily modified second-generation Ford Bronco fitted with a 460ci V8 and refurbished in 2023 is offered at no reserve with a Colorado title.

A heavily modified 1978 Ford Bronco Ranger XLT is being offered at no reserve on Bring a Trailer, with the listing highlighting a 460ci V8, a six-inch suspension lift and a full body-off refurbishment completed around 2023. The second-generation truck carries a Colorado title, and its odometer is listed as Exempt.

The engine was fitted in 2021 and is reported to have come from a 1976 Ford F-250. It was rebuilt before installation and is paired with a three-speed C6 automatic transmission and an NP205 dual-range transfer case, which sends power to the rear or all four wheels. The drivetrain also includes a Dana 44 rear axle and a 9-inch differential. The induction setup includes a Carter AFB Competition Series carburetor, an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake manifold, Edelbrock-branded chrome valve covers and a Spectre open-element air cleaner.

The truck was disassembled and its body stripped to bare metal before being repainted in GMC Sand Dune Metallic with multi-color « sunset » stripe graphics in 2024. Undercoating was applied to the underside in late 2024. The Free Wheeling Package from the factory was part of the original specification, and the vehicle now sits on Mickey Thompson 15-inch beadlock wheels fitted with 36 x 15.5-inch Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ tires. Bilstein shock absorbers are fitted at all four corners.

Inside, the front captain’s chairs and removable folding rear bench were retrimmed in distressed brown leatherette with black inserts in early 2025, when the trim, carpeting and interior panels were also refurbished. The cabin includes a roll bar, a heater, a Bluetooth-compatible retro-style stereo and a 10-inch JBL subwoofer in the cargo area. An aftermarket wood-rimmed steering wheel sits in front of an 85-mph speedometer flanked by gauges for oil pressure, fuel level, alternator status and coolant temperature.

Exterior equipment includes a metallic brown removable fiberglass hardtop, a power-operated rear window, LED headlights, a swing-out rear-tire carrier, brown-painted bumpers, dual side mirrors and a bright grille. Power steering is fitted, and braking is by front discs and rear drums. The brake booster and pads were replaced under current ownership, and the carburetor was rebuilt in August 2026.

The odometer shows 15,000 miles, a figure the previous Bring a Trailer seller associated with the distance covered since the 2021 engine installation. The selling dealer, which bought the truck on the platform in November 2025, has since added approximately 1,300 miles. True mileage is unknown. Radiator, power-steering pump, spark plugs, ignition wires and the air cleaner were replaced between 2023 and 2025, and the turn-signal switch was replaced in mid-2025.
