A 1998 BMW M Roadster, one of 191 finished in Imola Red for North America that model year, is offered by a dealer with 79,000 miles, a clean Carfax report and its original window sticker.

A 1998 BMW M Roadster finished in Imola Red over black Nappa leather is being offered by a selling dealer, a BaT Local Partner, and it is one of 191 cars built in that colour combination for the North American market for the model year. The example has covered 79,000 miles and comes with its window sticker, owner's manuals, a clean Carfax report and a New Jersey title.
Power comes from a 3.2-litre S52B32 inline-six with VANOS variable valve timing, factory rated at 240 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque. The engine sends its output to the rear wheels through a ZF five-speed manual gearbox and a limited-slip differential. The listed redline is 6,800rpm, and the instrument cluster includes a speedometer calibrated to 160mph alongside gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level, with a digital odometer showing the 79,000-mile total.
The exterior is finished in Imola Red, paint code 405, with a power-operated black convertible soft top, front fender vents and quad exhaust outlets. The car rides on silver-finished 17-inch Style 40 wheels fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 tyres, and braking is handled by four-wheel ventilated discs. Photos showing paint-meter readings are included in the gallery accompanying the listing, allowing prospective buyers to check the finish across the body.
Inside, black Nappa leather covers the heated sport seats, door panel inserts and centre console. Roll hoops, air conditioning and cruise control are fitted, alongside an AM/FM cassette stereo, a remote CD changer and a Harman Kardon sound system. The M-branded leather-wrapped steering wheel features tri-colour stitching, a detail that marks the car out from standard 3 Series roadsters of the period.
The window sticker records initial delivery to Wayne BMW in New Jersey and lists a total suggested retail price of $42,770. The Carfax report shows no accidents or other reported damage, and the New Jersey title accompanies the car, which the seller presents as a documented history from its first delivery onward.
The listing reflects the wider appeal of the M Roadster, a small-volume model that BMW's motorsport division developed from the Z3 platform and that has since become a reference point for collectors of late-1990s roadsters. Its straight-six engine, manual transmission and rear-wheel drive set it apart from the softer grand tourers of its time, and documented examples with low ownership history and original paperwork tend to draw the closest attention from buyers. Offering the car through a local partner also places it in front of enthusiasts who prefer to inspect a vehicle in person before committing.
